The Other Side

Comic Strip

Picture
Comic strips are a fun and artistic way to explore the "other side" of the story. In this comic strip, I pursue an artistic liberty with the antagonist of the story, O'Brien. In 1984, he tricks the protagonist, Winston, into believing that he is a friend and fellow movement leader. However, O'Brien is actually a member of the Thought Police who imprisons Winston for his attempted revolution. In this comic strip, I portray O'Brien as a victim of this dystopia, who, like Winston, fell in love with Julia but refused to give up her name like Winston does.
